*The Rape of Philomel is a classic story. As the tale goes Philomel is raped by her brother-in-law and he rips out her tongue to keep her from telling anyone. She weaves her story into a tapestry and sends it to her sister who tries to rescue her. Unfortunately before Philomel makes it home she is turned into a Nightingale, which is why their song sounds so melancholy.
